The lake index was really just a different way to sort the reports.

Go to Main Menu: Reports > All Reports > Freshwater Lakes

When I do that and search for Moses Lake, I only get one report from the "recent" reports. How do you pull up historical data?

Main Menu: Research > Area Information

Find the area you're researching, In the Hot Spots column, click on the far right link.

Not intuitive I know, but there it is. Also, it's just a basic page with all hotspots and now filtering. I'll expand on this page as well as time permits. Gotta get my way through the bugs first.

There is a well known saying "If it aint broke, don't fix it" which would seem to apply here, the new site is tedious ,slow and difficult to use,After three attempts now I have not been able to find what I wanted and don't have time to sit and go through page after page in the effort.Doubtless there is someway to do it but it is not readily available as it was under the old index.Bring back the old site.

Why do you think they should make it the way you want it if you won't take the time to learn how to use the site properly? This is why I can't be in HR or customer service. People that want everything done the way they like without putting any effort into it at all irritate me. You obviously haven't bothered to read the reasoning behind the updates, new website, and fixes Aaron has been doing. You don't have time to read the forums you post on, but you sure do have plenty of time to sit here and complain about them.

I'm gonna stop now. Apologies for the negativity, but this kind of thing is very bothersome to me. [cursing]

The old site was *very* broken. It might not have been obvious to you, but it was. It was hindering our growth.

The new site has much faster load times than the old site.

I asked before but you didn't reply... what exactly are you researching? I'm kind of an expert on where things are located around here. Perhaps I could help.

I see 'lake maps' is under: 'research', and then click on 'depth maps'.

We know change is hard guys. Each time we launch a new site there is yhe same frustration people are voicing now. We get it. Ultimately it's for the good of the long term growth of NWFR that we make these changes. Mobile now acounts for over half of our visits. The old site wasn't mobile meaning we would have slowly lost readers even while the desktop readers were happy with what we had. Until everything ground to a slow, painful stop. If you don't believe me, think of some of the fishing report sites that 10 years ago were active and are now ghost towns. Anyway, the point to all this is we are all helping Aaron by basically beta testing the new site so he can tweeking it to make it the way we want it to work. It's a work in progress. It requires patience. It will ultimately give us a site that will advance as we all change the way we interface with the internet . So hang in there! Aaron has already made a lot of nice fixes due to everyone's input.

I think most of us are ok with that :)

One thing that might help is a site map or some guide to where we can expect to find things. From some of the things Aaron has posted, his ideas for the new site layout (where things can be found) are very different from what we had before.

Even if they arent all in place yet, a site map - even a rough one - would help us get around and get used to the new layout.

I should have said that I dont mean Aarons ideas are bad. People dont like 'change' as a general rule, but that doesnt mean change is bad. You just have to get used to it to realize that its better in many cases. A site map or guide would help with that I think.

That said, Im not 100% sure I will like everything Aaron comes up with, but I am more than willing to give it a shot. So far, I am liking almost all the new stuff - once I get used to it :)

Obviously Aaron is working his ass off - things are improving rapidly!

I think you need to schedule a Lake County meet and have at least 6 or 7 MINIs show up in order to get your own forum. BUT Im not the guy in charge.
