Powerbait and power eggs are tough to beat. I like power eggs because you can launch them 1/2 way across the lake and dont have to worry about them falling off. But sometimes they dont give off enough scent (I think?) and powerbait is the only thing that will work. But some of the biggest trout I have caught have come from the 2 mallows and full night crawler set up. If the fish in the lake arnt huge but still natural (or planted as fry) 1 mallow 1/2 crawler wil do some damage too.

depending on the lake's structure ,i've caught way more trout with no bait shore fish'n. i have yet to really use power bait and i did catch alot of trout useing the marshmallow-worm back in the early "80's" and yea i always had the egg's back then when noth'n else work'd.
