Launched at 0530. Trolled from the launch to the dam and caught one piss ant of a Kokanee that fought my son like it was a trophy sockeye. Ultra light rods make this species a lot more fun!

We then headed to the no wake area and consistently put Kokanee in the boat for two hours. One right after the other. Between constantly setting the kids poles on the downriggers and the heat it made for a sweaty two hour workout.

We used all colors but orange was the top performer on the this lake. The orange Radical Glow tube with copper and orange Dick Nite dodger did the best followed by a moonglow 4" Konezone flasher with a homemade orange wedding ring. These were rigged with shoepeg corn then finished with Super Dipping Sauce Kokanee attractant. Speeds were 1.1 to 1.3 on the GPS and depths of 14 to 26 feet on the downrigger.

The lake is super shallow. When we returned to the dock around 10ish and it was packed with pleasure boaters launching in its shallow depths. If I was camping at Alder I would have taken a lawn chair and a cooler down to the boat launch. It was hysterical to watch. I even learned a few new cuss words.

Nice job sounds like a ton of fun!! I was there from 9 to 5 or so. We did ok my son struggled to land fish but we managed to bring home 10 fish. I think I passed you when you were heading in?? I was in the red weldcraft heading towards the dam. We to after talking with you or someone saying the finger no wake zone was good. We caught some nice RB up there along with some kokanee.

Yup, that was us. I'm glad you guys got some fish. What were you using? We also got a small trout back there. Its flesh was as orange as our lures.

We were using a orange and gold wedding ring and a red wedding ring from Toni. We have not had any luck using using anything else but wedding rings. I have tried. I hope to make it out again next week.

I've had a blue/green combination hoochie work at Alder in late September when they start getting aggressive. Toni does make some good lures. I hope to be there again Friday but yesterdays water level has me thinking I won't be back until next year.
