Pepe' convinced Jeff to take him out and enjoy the improving weather and to get some more Kokanee for Tevi. The same winter pattern that has been so effective continued today. Pounding schools of suspended fish from 50 to 150 feet deep over a much deeper bottom out at Colyar ledge got the silver bullets to bite. Using Mack's Lures Mini Cha cha's in Orange, baited with Pautzke Fire Corn was the core of the presentation. Run a 0000 Chrome Mack's Double D Dodger about 16" in front of the squid rig completes the ensemble. Work the presentation just above their eye leve at about 1.1 mph gets them to bite. Go to the show and talk about fishing or actually fish. The bite is on...

This is almost too much. I can't wait until spring on the (coast) west side.

How big are the schools you are marking? Before you would see humongous schools, last couple years, I have only been finding smaller schools. By the time I get turned around they are gone, really hard to relocate the schools. What are your recommendations to stay on them?
Thanks for the consistent reports.

The size of the schools vary a lot. This early in the year they are schooled up tightly and do not bust because of boat traffic. Jeff and I differ there. Jeff will usually keep his gear down and sweep around and back thru. If I get multiples, I like to burn the gear in, turn and drop it back down. Both techniques have there ups and downs.
