Me Scoot and Noel headed down to the North shore dock area of Palmer lake around 7ish. We were po-dunk fishing from the dock. Tried casting nothing. Tried throwing a basic worm n bobber out...nothin . We saw the fish boiling the top of the lake out in the middle....needed to get out there. Noel scored a small paddle boat from our buddy Pete who lives real near the shore. We crammed into the tiny p...

The Stennes went up to Palmer with some guys. They trolled Mack s wedding rings with Pautzke s Fire Corn with 2 ounce snap weights at 1.5 mph to catch some kokanee. They noted that the South end of the lake where the water temp was 50 to 52 was where they got their bites. They North end with water temps of 47 to 49 did not generate bites. These fish were from 14 to 16 inches....

The Palmer crew was nice enough to go to Rufus with us today. Andy skipped the lower end and fought rough water up the lake to the lower net pens. They trolled flies with good success catching and releasing fourteen in a couple of hours work. The bite slowed down so they switched to jigs under floats baited good old Pautzke Balls of Fire to get some fish for the barbecue. Most fish were 2 to 4 pou...

For the past couple years I have been staying on spectacle around the first part of August I just love the country up there!! In my opinion its the best Washington has to offer and I ve been in just about every corner of the state. The road that runs through Loomis and along Palmer Lake is surreal and pristine. There is even a population of Big Horn Sheep in the valley there by Palmer lake. Now to...

This year it was at 56F and they were deep and not biting at all . A big thunderhead approached from Canada and we boogied out of there only to find Palmer Lake colder (52F) and in worse shape ...coffee colored with 2 v...
