Re: Wenatchee River

I suggest keeping an eye on the fish counts from both Rock Island and Rocky Reach dams. Try this web site :http://www.chelanpud.org/fish-counts.cfm

Re: Wenatchee River

There are fish in the system. The Wenatchee is still running high, but it should improve soon. The Icicle is producing fish, but access is an issue. The local paper stated that 20,000 chinook have already gone over Rock Island Dam, which are fantastic numbers.

I would not get your hopes up for fishing any of our high mountain lakes in May, especially since we've had some late snow fall this year. The earliest I have ever been into Stuart lake was around the first of june and there was still snow for the last 1/2 mile to the lake.

I am a big fan of Ruger revolvers, but not such a fan of their semi-auto's. If you are looking for a concealed carry pistol I highly recommend s&w or taurus revolvers. Both these companies offer pistols made with aluminum frames and titanium cylinders which make for a light and comfortable carry gun...

RE:Cashmere, WA fishing

The Columbia is open for fishing for anything other than trout/salmon. There is ample shore access in Wenatchee, but I am not sure what you would catch other than suckers or squaw fish (aka pike minnow for the politically correct). I have not fished lake Chelan from shore, I think there are some fis...

RE:PCT HWY 2 - HWY 20

I would check out washington trail assoc. @wta.org. They usually have good trail reports and possibly links to other sites. I am a big fan of the 100 hikes series of books, although I am not sure if they have that stretch of the pacific crest trail described as a single hike.
Cheers

RE:Cashmere, WA fishing

The problem with fish lake is the lack of shore access, and the Cove charges to fish off their dock. The last weekend in April is the general fishing season opener and most of the lakes in the Wenatchee heights area will be open. These lakes provide a pretty good opportunity to fish for planted rain...
