Re: 2014 Pike tally!
I have not been on here in a while but thought I would give a quick report. My Spring was super busy so just now getting out more. Fished the Chain lakes over the weekend of the 4th. Slammed the pike. Spinner bait was key on outside weed edges in 8-10' of water. My spinner bait is a frankenstein sta...

Re: New fly: Mortgage Maker
To help on the fly you speak of I need more info, materials and what it is imitating. The only reason I say not a montana nymph is the trailing red hook. "Mortgage Maker" is a local given name, I also know of a "Mortgage Maker" but it is a black and olive maribou tied streamer on a 1/8oz jig hook, i...

Re: Long Lake/ Lake Spokane access
Tum Tum is a private launch. I thought I heard a rumor that Nine Mile was being sold to the state, must of happened. That launch was the only early season launch on the whole lake. I have not fished Long in a couple of years, really miss the fishing on that thing, gonna have to get back over there t...

Re: Gil Netting in Lake CDA
From a very reliable source I heard that in the nets on the CDA they "reported" killing 600 small mouth bass as well as pike. They also caught a number of large mouth but did not divulge that number. ](*,) ](*,) Talked to a couple guys on Hayden at Sportsman launch who fish the CDA heavy for pike an...

Hayden Lake
So I have fished Hayden a bunch this year. No real big pike landed, biggest one was about 6lbs. In years past I have been able to get a few over the 10lb mark in into the upper teens. I was on it this sunday with my girls and did not get one pike. I did however kill the LM bass. Granted I was not ju...

Re: Fly Fishing for pike anyone??
I have fly fished for pike a ton on the PO before the kill off. I have an 8wt rod just for that occasion. Pike on the fly is a TON of work. Spring time is best when they are in the shallows. If you can find them on structure you can get them to go usually on a fly as well. I am avail most sundays an...

Small white plastic jerk bait like a Zoom Fluke works great for this.

Re: 2013 Pike Tally
^ I hear ya man. Took my girls to Rose in hopes to get some Pike/Bass/Crappie. No Crappie, couple Perch, 4 Bass, 5 Pike on only 3 landed, little guys to boot. Youngest hooked what looked to be a 24+" pike on her barbie pole with a beetle spin. As soon as it saw the boat it bit the line. Tough tough ...

Re: Making soft plastics last?
O-ring was a good option until I found this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzObGjmJ-7g&list=UUnEYYGWShdDKYseCmyqmXxQ&index=2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Way better than an O-ring. Loose way less stick baits using this method. Here is another great tip. http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Re: Gil Netting in Lake CDA
I have been real busy lately and just wanted to get this news out there. I meant to come back in here sooner and post up my thoughts on this issue. Well AJ's Dad said pretty much exactly what I was going to say, =D> . I do understand that the CDA lake system is MUCH more of a beast then the PO river...

Gil Netting in Lake CDA
The lunacy does not stop. pisses me off to no ends. They say it's only research, well we know how "research" went on the PO.

Re: 2013 Pike Tally
Was going to start a new thread but thought I would just add to this one. Went to the Chain Lakes, fished only one of them. Boat launch was packed like it was Memorial day weekend, unreal for a Monday. On the water by noon. Fishing was real slow for a few hours. Couple of bass on a swimbait, one sma...

Re: Bowfishing Carp!!
Actually hacking the fish with a machete and letting them sink to the bottom, in deep water, is very beneficial to the lake. The nutrients from the fish are then spread throughout all species of the lake, creating a very healthy aqua ecosystem. Grass carp are also very beneficial to the lake as wel...

Re: Carp Fishing Around Spokane
You will not have good fishing for carp until late May early June. You have been given some great advise on lakes though.
