Dry Side Rendezvous
There seems to be a lot of folks on this site from the east side of the state. What are your thoughts on a Rendezvous in a campground, somewhere close to the Spokane area. Fishtrap Lake comes to mind. We could share ideas and meet the faces that go with the names. Maybe even a Pot Luck on Saturday night. What say all?

Sounds like an excellent idea to me. We are relatively new to the east side and would like to meet some new folks.

RE:Dry Side Rendezvous
I think this is a great idea as well. I'd love to meet like minded folks and spend time on the water. Where ever we go has to have a good launch so I can get my boat in the water. I'm retired USAF so I have access to the military resort facilities on Clear Lake. Although it's not one of my favorite lakes, that could be an option. I've never been to Fishtrap, so it would be a nice "new" lake to explore as well. Let's set a date!
We'll be at Roosevelt this coming weekend, but I'm open to getting together anytime after that. We can aways PM or email to handle specifics!

RE:Dry Side Rendezvous
I've fished Fish Trap a couple of times. My wife and I went there last year to check out the camping arrangements and found them quite suitable. There is a private resort, and I think camp fees include launching rights and space to park a boat trailer. I think the camp sites all have fire rings, but I'm not sure whether or not the resort has breakfast facilities. The entire lake is surrounded by private property so there are no houses to look at while flishing. It's not a big lake, but it's nice to fish. And, produces well.

I would love the opportunity to fish from the docks on the military acces at Clear Lake, we do not have a boat, but the park area there looks very nice!

RE:Dry Side Rendezvous
hewesfisher,
What can you tell us about the availability of civilian tent camping spots at the military resort. Is there shade and firepits. Does anyone know the name of the other resort at Clear. BTW, nice boat. That's a year rounder isn't it?

RE:Dry Side Rendezvous
Lotech, I honestly don't know if there are any civilian camping spots at the military resort, we only fish there maybe once or twice a year and never bother camping there. I can check and see what accomodations exist. I do know an authorized person must escort non-authorized people into the facilty, and I could sign folks in as guests, so it would probably have to be a day thing, not an overnight deal. I'll look into it and post results here.
Thanks for the compliment, we love it, and yes, it most definitely is a year-rounder. My wife loves to fish but doesn't do wet or cold and certainly not wet and cold. We have a small propane heater that we use during the cold months and it warms the inside up nicely. We mostly fish the cold weather on Roosevelt and we have been quite pleased with the package. The only thing I might have done differently would be to have gotten the 18' instead of the 16', it gets a little tight outside the canvas when you've got one person working a fish and another standing by with the net. We get it done though.

Nice Boat Hewes-
Right across the lake from the military resort on Clear Lake is Mallard Bay Resort. They have dock fishing, camping, small store, boats and cabins. Mark and Tammy are the owners and are very nice people. A friend of mine camped with their trailer there for about 5 days and loved it.
Mallard Bay Resort- 299-3830
The south end of the lake is bouyed (sp?) off with a strict speed limit within it. That makes it nice for people with small boats like mine. Skiers and pontoon boats don't mix.

Marc,
Thanks for the info. I couldn't view your attachment though. We have a new computer and I still haven't figured out all the firewall stuff. Do you remember is there was shade at Mallard Bay? That location is also very close to ammenities in the town of Medical Lake. Or a quick trip to the lake of Medical Lake.

He has several areas where you can camp. I think that the areas away from the lake have some shade. The sites right on the water I don't think have shade.
There is another resort on the other end of the lake, Rainbow Cove. I don't know what they have, only launched my boat there once.
I don't know how to paste a opened picture on a post. I attach a photo and it comes out with a link. Need some help guys......

Marc,
There may be an easier way to post a photo to an email or forum than mine, but this is what works for me. I created an account (free) at www.photobucket.com . At that site you can browse your computer for photos you have saved and load them into an album. Once that's done, you can just click on the image url for that photo and right click it and copy it. Then when you're posting on a forum or in an email message, pick where you want the picture to go and right click then left click "Paste."

It's easier than I've made it sound.

Tried that and it didn't work. I'll bounce it off of Mike and Aaron. It may be that I am on a Mac.

When you paste a IMG tag line into your draft it will not show the picture until you post it.

The correct IMG tag is like this: [ img ][ /img ] but without the spaces between the brackets and the tag along with your pic addres in between the two tags. Must have brackets on both ends of img /img or it won't work.o:)bigastrout wrote:When you paste a IMG tag line into your draft it will not show the picture until you post it.

I just sabbotaged the tag line in my post by leaving out the brackets for the example or the pic would have shown.hewesfisher wrote:The correct IMG tag is like this: [ img ][ /img ] but without the spaces between the brackets and the tag along with your pic addres in between the two tags.
