Cle Elum Lake?

Post by Larry3215 » Mon Jun 17, 2019 6:09 pm

Did a quick search with out finding what Im after. Mikes recent report on Cle Elum has me motivated to give it a try though.

Does anyone know if there are any charts for this lake? Garmin and Navionics have nothing that I can find.

In the absence of charts, are there any hazard areas in the lake to watch out for? Im wondering if it has hidden rock pillars or barely submerged islands, etc that we see on many of our local lakes. It looks like the north end gets really shallow, but I cant tell much else from the little I could find on-line.

Thanks!

Larry

no pinnacles that I know of. going north from the Wish Poosh launch you'll hit the 90-100 foot contour, the lake gradually shallows out north of this contour. To the south heading to the dam it gets very deep, 300 feet. Finding a stable contour to fish is next to impossible. A couple points will come up from deep water to 40-50 feet quickly, DR ball grabbers.
I have caught fish in the 240-300 foot depth, in fact my biggest came down that deep. There's a video in the archives of it.
No maps that I am aware of. It's all in my head now...

Beware of the north end of the lake when the water level is down later into the summer, the last at least half mile is a stump farm that can claim some victims at lower water levels.
