Phillips Lake with Uncle Wes Malmberg
Re: Phillips Lake with Uncle Wes Malmberg
I stand corrected 20 years. I had to think back. I have had 3 in that amount of time. For a three day trip I would I would take an extra set. just depends how long you are out. Hope that helps.
Re: Phillips Lake with Uncle Wes Malmberg
Wes, ever take your technique to the Salt water for some sea-run cut's? I would think, it would be very effective.
Re: Phillips Lake with Uncle Wes Malmberg
Actually next year is on the schedule for that and I agree with you. Also thinking of trying it on the Pinks.
Re: Phillips Lake with Uncle Wes Malmberg
Are you saying a shallow fishing technique in shallow water for pinks. Or fishing shallow, but in deeper water? I have used a pink homemade "shrimp fly" on pinks. But, I attached the fly to a dodger, fishing 40ft down, in 200ft of water. Early morning fishing the rips, downrigger at 8 to 17ft. But never tried shallow water, along the beach. The hit, trolling like that would be huge! I have caught pinks on trout poles, now that is a hoot. Strong, long runs.Uncle Wes wrote:Actually next year is on the schedule for that and I agree with you. Also thinking of trying it on the Pinks.

I haven't worked out the details yet, but I would think shallow waters at the mouth of rivers or even in the rivers. Still got to work that out. i would think the hit would be huge and the fight would be even better.
