DON'T LEAVE STUFF IN YOUR CAR!!!!

Post by EdmondsBassMan » Sat Sep 29, 2007 12:42 am

Hey guys I know I'm not the first guy to have this happen but don't leave anything of value in your car when you are off fishing. This past weekend while fishing on the Snoho River my car and another car were broken into. We were parked at the future SnoHo County park just past the Hwy 9 bridge. It sucks that while we are out enjoying some good clean fun that people are casing our cars for stuff to steal. I should have posted this earlier but have been kind of bummed about the stuff I lost. They got a back pack with all my bass gear and some other exspensive fishing related items. It's funny I was angry with the thieves but more angry at myself for leaving it in the car especially when I was fishing for salmon and had no need for that bag. I would like to give props to the two guys that stopped, got the plate number of the vehicle the thieves were in,called the police, walked up and down the river till they found both of us who owned the vehicles broken into and waited till the police arrived to give their statement. If not for them the other vehicle most likely would have been stolen all together. So again beware of what you leave in your car if you are going to be away from it for a long time and if any of you fish like I do it is always a long time! On a brighter note the next day I got my first Coho and it was an 8 pounder!!!

Man that sucks.Last year while Salmon fishing,at my favorite spot.I had a simalr expierence.I saw three dudes up by my car I told my ol'lady look are they breaking into our car she said I don't think so.They are probably just gearing up since it is a popular spot for all the locals to fish.So I just let it go and went back to fishing. So at the end of the day we made our way back to our rig,and then it was so obvious. They cut our convertable top all the way around. But they must of got spooked and took off.At first I thought it was just vandalisim until I seen broken glass from the next to us.So I called the Kitsap County Sheriff (talk about a waste of my time)the officer said its just a car break in.I said to him last time I heard that was against the law.He took a report and left .Next time I'll investagate when think something isn't right.Sorry about your bass gear and congrats on your first silver they are very fun to catch boy do the fight and jump around.

My experince with the police was similar. It took them 2 hours to finally show up! I know there were more important things than cars being broken into but 2 hours. They seemed more concerned about why we were parked out there like we were doing something wrong.

Tweakers don't steal cars...They'll bust any window open when they see anything good, best to leave it at home if you don't need it. It does suck though but watch out the river fishing season brings out a lot of people who bust into cars...

Arg, getting robbed is such a terrible feeling-- anger, depression, helplessness. Atleast those guys got the license plate number of the cowards though! Typically people don't even get that. Congrats on the coho! Sounds like a nice one!

When I lived in Yakima (and I still do it now) I'd just leave my rig unlocked with nothing valuable in it. It got rumaged through a couple times, but beats having to replace a window. Of course I wouldn't recommend this if you have a CD player.

I was at Rotary Park on the Snoh, just near Lowell and there was glass on the parking lot from a broken window. Also, just up stream there were several places, with glass on the ground from broken windows. It's true that you don't want to leave stuff visible in your car. At least it's not like Hawaii, where they just bust into any rental vehicle regardless if they see anything. My parents were there and went through 3 different rental cars because of breakins (1st time they got stuff, 2nd time, nothing was visible).

Man that is a bummer. I talked to Dez after it happened and you left him the message and he told me the news. Sorry bro. If you need anything that I can get let me know. The next time I put a big order on online, I'll hit you up and see what you still need. You'll be back on top and have more gear than before in no time.
