I think any tackle box is incomplete without 10" black power worms. Kinda old school probably, but I've caught lots of big bass in the summer on those. And it eliminates the dinks.

Shhhhh! These guys like finesse worms. I still use Culprit's 10" and 12" in Tequila Sunrise or June Bug. They have their times to shine.

Yeah, like when your tubing a flooded shoreline around some logs, and you swim that big ol' worm through there, and that bass hits so hard it practically rips the rod out of your hands? But Shhhh, don't tell anyone

Yes.....it will be called the "Theif's Karma" (or "Victim's Revenge") strain of bass. Even larger than Florida strain bass. Catch and release only, because they feed on scum, and because we need as many as possible.

If I had to start all over for some reason I would probably buy mostly swimbaits, big cranks and a few large plastics (6"+ senkos, lizards, worms). :cyclops:

oh and how could i forget spinnerbaits (1/2 oz+) and some topwaters!

Which ones? I hadn't heard of these so I looked them up and it looks like there are various hook and weight shapes.

I am absolutely amazed that I didn't see floating minnow lures in the suggestions. For the past 30 years they have been my hands down favorite lure. They are super easy to fish and they catch bass of all sizes. I have probably caught thousands of bass on those lures and they have to be the most exciting lures to catch fish on. You see the strike, hear the strike and feel the strike all at the same time. Sure, they attract a lot of little bass but the big boys like them too. My first spring bass this year was 5-15 and she hit a floating Rapala. My 5 pound "Kong" bass also hit a Rapala and I have hooked several in the 3 pound class this season -- and I'm old. My 2nd most popular lure is a jig. I did see them mentioned but most were a little heavier than I like. My favorite is 1/4 ounce followed up by 3/8 ounce. I like the jig to spend a little more time dropping as I watch the line -- And, I fish shallow water a lot. I have never tried Bacon but it sounds interesting. I too have been the victim of a break in at a WDFW access (King County's Beaver Lake) so I can relate quite well. Good luck. BT

From now on...I'm taking my sniper rifle fishing with me, that way I can "reach out and touch someone" from the middle of the lake if I see them messin with my rig :rambo:

Yes you are correct Bass Tracker! I believe the number one selling lure of all times is the Rapala Floating Minnow.

How recent were these break-ins at Beaver? I've been fishing there almost every weekend this summer and luckily haven't been robbed yet. Are they just doing a smash & grab or are they using a "jimmy" of sorts? You would think the people that are almost always on the point by the park would see this going on...

I can loan you a rod if you need one. With all the lures and tackle recommended, it might be hard to budget for a new rod. I know you'll be getting a new set up, but my offer still stands.
