How... Lizards in Lily Pads?
I have some zoom lizards and am wondering how to rig them for use in heavy lily pad cover? Is this even to be attempted? I have tried them weightless but do not seem to get much action out of them. Would a better way be to run a pegged Texas rig?

Pegged Texas rig would be the way to go. You might have to go with a heavy weight like 1/2 or 3/4 oz if the stuff is thick.

I rig it texas style with a 1/4 oz worm sinker with 14lb test and have no problem, try and cast to the edges or on the pads and drop it into the holes. Also dangle the lizard off the edges of the pads and hold on for some xplosive results. Like I say to my boy watch your line for the littlest tick and set the hook!!

I've had a lot of success with the Zoom lizards rigged weightless. You just have to go super slow with your retrieve, letting it fall for several seconds at a time. If it gets windy though, a texas rig sure helps to get it down quicker.

Also in very thick vegetation, try plunking. 3/4 to 1 oz weight on braided line and flip high in the air to get it to penetrate the mat. I usually rig a sweet beaver or ugly otter but a lizard would work. Hold on they hit on the fall. If they don't pick up slightly a few times and let it fall. Then move on to the next patch. This is one on the techniques I used in NC during the summer. Very successful. You need braid to be able to pull them out of the mat.
