go to the fish!!!

Post by panfisher » Mon Jul 19, 2010 6:34 pm

This time of year in certain body's of water you have to go to the fish when they won't come to you. here are a few myron crappie that were hard for the average shore fisher to get.

Wow is that dedication! How long is that rod?
Nice pictures and fish.
Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

Since it doesnt have to be a panfish, I have to chase the trout now down to deeper water. It was easy to catch them from shore during spring months. I have to use a float tube to find them now, but I am not always successful We all know the reason its called fishing and not catching. Nice crappies by the way. Finally got bluegill off of my to catch list. Next is crappie.

Haha nice, geeesh was that one of the spots you were talking about before that hold crappie when I asked you about Myron lake before? I remember that area when I went there, it was all muddy and hard to fish with the smaller rods we had from the shore.

It's a Shimano Clarus 13ft that I found at Hammers in Union Gap.69.99 plus tax. So far I'm liking it.:) The reel is a Super caster 230 XL U.S. REEL that I found at Big 5 for 50.00. spool'd with 4lb trilene extra smooth. I can cast a 100th oz jig set-up alot further than the 91/2 ft,r I,ve been using.

Yes it is one of the spots. longer poles can get you just so close to the fish. A little muck wading will get them in the net. boaters have pretty much ruin'd a few other spots breaking/moveing the down'd trees to access the spots better which has made them not productive like they were.[mad] [-x

Panfisher- Great shots and thanks for sharing so much info especially with the pics. Re: your tube jig - is that how you rig it, or did you just pull the jig out of the tube to show what type of jig you were using? Otherwise that's kinda unconventional rigging - sorta like a wacky rig method going through the middle of the crappie tube. Just wondering if that's how you jig and catch your fish. No bobber either huh? Just long reach rod and jig with some wading? Nice technique.

YEP!!!:thumright Bluegill love it this way as it is sporatic when jig'd and as you can see the Crappie seem'd to like it. wonder'd if any one would notice. Blue and white has always been a great color combo for panfish.
