Lake Union and Lake Washington sonar maps

Post by BucketObolts » Wed Aug 20, 2014 1:51 pm

Side-scanning sonar project has mapped Lake Union and Lake Washington. Dive work underway to document many of the objects detected.

You can zoom into which ever areas you're interested in. Useful for locating underwater features one might target for fishing, or to figure out what that blip on your sonar was.

That's awesome! Along the same lines this is a non profit a friend of mine runs. They recover drowning victims, recover derlict nets and crab pots and other stuff. Check out the sonar gallery, pretty cool pics of side sonar scans.

I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker
