Green Horn in need

So here's the deal. I have 3 boys and a girl. They all want dad to take them fishing. Unfortuneately I only know how to comercial fish. I would happily like to learn the basics on lake and/or river fishing, so that I can create great memories with my children. I recently purchased a medium rod and pole with a zebco 33 and 10 lbs test.

I am not sure where to get started or where to go. I live in the marysville area.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Should be decent lake fishing this time of year for little kids. Perch, bluegill, and stuff probably (10 pound test would be heavy for lake fishing spiny rays but doable with a worm- perch aren't real line shy when they're feeding). Good luck!

Lake Stevens is a good lake to play on. It has alot of species to catch.Your rod and reel are great. Set up a bobber with a 3'leader with a worm hook and cast it out. Kids can watch a bobber better then watching the tip of a pole. When the bobber goes down set the hook and let the kids reel it in. Good luck .. Get a license too. Children under 16 dont need one. What ever you do dont use a seiner net Hahaha.. Although I wish I had one
