i built a media center which i love, the remote works like a mouse and is programmable up to 4 other devices, i got the tv to work just cannot get the cable box to work.
This will be a short term fix as in the 1st quarter a local kirkland company will be bring out the first digital card cards for the pc media center geeks like me...yohoooo....

What brand cards are the new ones?

I have been using Haupauge the last few years, till the conversion started, and Id like to set that back up again. On demand has made it a little less of an issue but not all shows are available either.

This is the new model Im considering - $149 - http://haupauge.com/site/products/data_hvr2250.html

Have you checked this Comcast page? http://www.comcast.com/corporate/custom ... motes.html

thanks for all the help guys but still no luck. it seems comcast have made a backward step in the remote department, this remote uses a different protocal XMP. From my research it seems like there is an another motive for doing this...many replay tv and tivo remotes now do not work the new DTA boxes, the only way the will is if you buy the comcast DVR box for the extra money a month.... there is quite a few annoyed people out there....
For me it is really frustrating i have a superb set up i watched all my TV and recorded TV through the windows media center and it has got ruined my the digital experince....
Jim and Quad thanks for the PM's will hold you to it for the life of me noone seems to have the frigging codes for the cable. im gonna not worry about it for now like as im waiting for the new cable card http://www.cetoncorp.com/ProductsWMC.php
this should do the trick.

ramcvey i dont think it will work because comcast sends the pics down the line encryted that tv turner will catch all the 30 channels that comcast sends through now. but the best thing y ou can do it buy it locally and see if it works and then take it back if it dont. After all it is saying it is ditgital, however miss informing it is.. one thing i have tried is hooking up the DTA box to the turner i have ill try and give that a go this week.
