living under 4 miles away from it, fuel is not a issue!!!! can't wait... and wife is hoping to get a job there...

I can't wait. Went to the one in Mesa AZ and was amazed. Took all I had in me to leave.

If you like cabelas you will love bps. I cant wait to go check it out.

I haven't been to cabela's and don't really plan on going there as people have said the prices are high and not much selection of Bass stuff. Now Bass Pro I'll have to go to see what they have.

And on-line Cabela's has stuff I want that bass pro doesn't. Bought something from Tackle Warehouse yesterday that neither bass pro nor cabela's had.

I was just at that Big Sporting Goods Store in Fife and saw them selling a bag of crappie tubes for salmon/steelhead for $4.89. They won't be able to charge that anymore when BPS comes in with theirs for $1.99 a bag.

Exactly. I've done plenty of business with BPS online and was always pleased with prices and customer service but I also have some doubts when they arrive in the area. Nothing specific but I remember going down this road before just prior to Cabelas setting up shop. All kinds of hype followed by disappointment due to selection and prices. I'll certainly check it out when it arrives but I'm also a fan of local business such as Limit Out and Fish Country etc.

Bass fishing is still the minority of income in the pnw. I wouldn't be surprised if they catered to the cold water species more like Cabelas did.

Well it's now open. I ended up finishing a 36 hour shift and had no intentions of attending the "Opening Ceremony" but last minute opted to take the family. A nice setup, naturally the kids were drawn to the aquarium. A decent collection of trout, bass (even some smallies),walleye, catfish and a musky. It was hard to walk around due to the large crowd but was a bit surprised as it seemed to be lacking/limited bass gear but maybe I skipped passed it. Maybe that will change a bit as the store makes adjustments to the area. Certainly not bashing BPS but I will likely do my shopping at the smaller shops and Sportsman's Warehouse. It is good to see a business in place in a former vacant store and some folks back to work. I'll go back in and check it out in a few weeks, assuming that it will be a little less crowded.

Yeah, it was odd. An opening ceremony (like it was the Olympic games) Wednesday evening but the "Official" Grand Opening was the following morning. They do offer free Ship to Store for those curious. Word of caution, apparently climbing to the top of the tank, drinking a beer and pitching jigs is "Frowned upon" at least I hear.
