Did I say "Hope for Spring?"

Post by Lotech Joe » Sat Mar 29, 2008 9:20 am

I had to go and say something stupid like there is still hope for spring. This is about 3-4 inches on March 29th. Go 10 miles south and they got 12". Go 10 miles north and they got 15+".

Ah, you understand. I'm (not seriously) considering taking up shooting pool, and selling all my fishing gear. I pray that April showers will bring MORE FISHING. The heck with the May flowers.[-o< [-o< [-o<

No kidding, Joe! This weather is killing me! Last year, I easily caught 100-plus fish during my March adventures, mostly at Amber. This year, due to the "winter without end" and it's associated ice, snow squalls and sleet storms, my tally is still under 20...for the entire month of March! Ouch.

The flip side is that April, May and June are gonna rock!

My spirits are dropping fast. My tally so far for the month of March is 0-zero-nadda. But I'm mamby-pamby when it comes to fishing in a blizzard.

Hang in there Joe. Had snow for about 10 minutes, then heavy hail for 15 minutes and all of a sudden, blue sky as far as I could see. Still have it now. Sunshine is heading your way.

I've almost got my wife talked into moving to Miami/Ft.Lauderdale. I just need two more weeks of winter to seal the deal. Another weekend wasted with snow could help, too!

Imagine, Christmas Day walking out in the backyard to use your new presents instead of waiting 4 or 5 monthes.

Lets see, today rain, snow, hail and a sign of spring, thunder. I am seeing a lot of robins and other birds. I havn't seen any redwings yet. I am sure they are probly south of town. I am just waiting to hear that spring corous of birds.

Huge hailstorm just pasted through Renton and areas east...I'd say 1/2" of hail had fallen on some local hills...huge dime-sized hail too...amazing! This is the winter than just doesn't want to give up...after driving through it...glad to be back safely...thunder and lightening too!

Today my thermometer is reading 55* that is the warmest I have seen it yet. I am dying to go fishing now. I think spring is here (knock on wood) but, now that it is yard work comes fist. Maybe! :bounce:  :compress: :bounce:

I think it was 56 degrees here yesterday. The snow is all but gone. The tulips are up about 4-5 inches and I think it's time to go fishing. Right after I;
Get a haircut
Take the studded tires off
Build 3 more huge raised bed garden boxes
Get a load of bark
Collect all the yard waste
Go to the dump with yard waste

By then it'll be time for a tottie and too late to go fishing. I'll be lucky if I can lift my glass, but it will at least be warm out.

Spring? I sure hope you guys know something I don't know.

I just came back from a job up North of Spokane yesterday so I checked a few lakes.

Diamond is frozen solid, Eloika is frozen solid, Bear is frozen solid.

So, is Amber clearing up yet? How about Coffee Pot?
Too much water, so many fish, too little time.

I believe I heard Amber is open. Medical is just around the corner to fully open and Liberty has been open for a couple of weeks. I think Downs is also all open water now. I was at Newman last week and I saw places where the deer had been walking on the ice.
