522 bridge bank access?
Hey All,
Swung by on Friday pretty early before sun up and didn't really see much access. I saw the construction areas on both sides of the river but didn't spend too much time looking around as no trespassing signs were posted all around the construction sites. I ended up taking off to Thomas Eddy.
A good friend of mine and my girlfriend want to go fishing with me this Saturday and from what I hear, the East side of the river at the bridge would be a good spot for u. Are those fishing in the area just parking on the side of the road and walking through the construction area? Or is there another way to access the bank near the bridge?
Thanks!

I haven't banked there for a while, so don't know about the construction sites but on the eastside you can follow tester rd all the way to the end. That's lord hill park and there is some access down there.

Re: 522 bridge bank access?
Thanks spoonman. Anyone else have some tips on getting to the bank in that area?
Re: 522 bridge bank access?
as the river runs east to west im not sure what you are calling the east side? tester road will access the north side. Drive to the end and park and walk into the park and follow the trails towards the river.
Re: 522 bridge bank access?
Well if you really want to get technical it runs northwest right there. So yes tester rd would the east/north side
Re: 522 bridge bank access?
there is
no technical about it, the river runs west, there is no east or west side?

I drive by there alot and have never found an easy way to access the river below the bridge area. I saw what looks like a small county park down there but never fished it.

OK, OK so at that point the river turns north, prior to there it runs west.. you dont have to be so mean...Sniff, sniffspoonman wrote:Ok buddy, just do me a favor and Check a map.

That was fun, thanks guys. Ill head to that park and scout it out on Friday. See if it will be any easier for a couple newbies than Bob Heirman.
Re: 522 bridge bank access?
if you go just below(downstream) the 522 bridge on the(go to the end of Tester RD) EAST side of the river there is gravel bar that is a good place to fish. On tester RD just before the construction work you can park and find the trail on SW side of the road that will take you to the river above the bridge.

Ive seen that gravel bar. It looks like an awesome spot to fish.Isnt that area private land. A buddy was telling me that most of that land is privately owned.

Re: 522 bridge bank access?
It is park land I believe, it is public fishing as I have fished there for years along with many others. To access the trail you have to walk into the park...racfish wrote:Ive seen that gravel bar. Re: 522 bridge bank access?
cool strider thanks for the info! question: there's like 3 tester roads on the map. the trail you mentioned, is it at the end of "old tester road" which forks off of "tester branch" road north of 522?strider43 wrote:It is park land I believe, it is public fishing as I have fished there for years along with many others.
