Northwest Fishing Reports

Talking with a fellow angler at the Duwamish I was told that the Coho run was starting to slow down as they moved upriver. Are there any resources to figure out how upstream the fish are?

You can check the WDFW hatchery escapement reports, although that only tells you when they reach the hatchery. If you look at previous years you can get an idea of when the fish reach the hatchery, then you can at least get a general idea of where they might be in the river and when run is mostly over. The unknown would be how fast the actually move up the river and where they might hold up, which probably varies greatly depending on water flows and temperature.
Otherwise you have to do the footwork, or look up previous years reports on this site, by dates and locations along the river.

Unfortunately, experience, word of mouth, and time on the water are the only clues. Networking helps. There will be more fish moving through, but it's going to be sporadic with weather and tides. Got to go frequently to be there when the fish are moving through the area.
