Lake Tapps reopens to fishing

Post by Amx » Fri Jun 19, 2015 9:57 am

BUT! somebody had better check the water level and let everyone know if it's safe for boating as opposed to shore fishing.

It doesn't look like it's open for boats;

AMX,
Saw the news last night on King 5 too..no motorized vessels...open to "passive recreation". Swimming..uhm..cold water idk if thats a good idea. Bonney Lake bath day is back on schedule..YES!! If you have a kayak or a paddle board go at it.Probably another week or so before putting a boat or lake lice..i mean jet ski in the water. Still way to dangerous for that. Still about 6 feet below full pool..shore anglers rejoice!

I've also been wondering how safe it'll be for motorboats. I've wondered if and how many logs and branches and wood and snags might be floating just under or at the water's surface.

Curious how good bad the fishing will be after a major drain like the lake had. Hoping it did not kill the lake for a few seasons as it looks like a great place I wanted to try out!

I have the same concerns. We liked fishing Tapps during the week for small mouth while hoping for a musky. Weekends were too crazy.
