Newbie with a newbie question...
Well i just got back into fishing after a 17 year break(27 now so do the math...) lol.
I moved away from sedro to California when i was 10, and now i moved back. I was just wondering if there was any good place for a beginner to "re-learn" everything, or if there are any clubs or groups that dont mind taking on a rookie to teach me some good spots and tips and tricks with fishing. any information would be nice especially if you live in the area and like to help out. thanks alot!

Hello Justin,
Welcome home and to the site.
A very good place to start is this web site. Check out the Lake reports, River reports and the forums and read, read, read. If you are living on the west side, I can't help you out to much with the fishing but if you decide to make a trip to central Wash. I've got stories to tell. What kind of fishing do you want to learn about and where do you want to do it? I've only been a member of WL.com for a couple of months and it’s been great. Lots and lots of information is passed around and I read and learn something new from the site almost every day.

Bragging may not bring happiness, but no man having caught a large fish goes home through an alley.

YO Justine
Welcome to the bestest, most informative fishing related site in the cyber world (my opinion anyway). Totally agree with Big D, read, read, read, then start asking specific questions. There are some extremely knowedgeable folks on this site that make this site what it is by sharing tips, techniques, amd words of caution when warranted. To quote the Big D "I read and learn something new from the site almost every day". I still am looking through past post, and am amazed at the varied information on most any subject fish related. SO dig in and get ready for the needed information to be available.

Welcome back Justin,
I know what the long absence feels like as it was almost 25 years since I had started fishing again. this site is filled to the brim with more information than it seems I can handle sometimes. Everyone here is most helpful and I know I would be at the place I am without the great words of wosdom that has been shared. i am so looking forward to the spring armed with the help that has been given.

'course they don't have biscuits and gravy ... but if they did, I bet everyone would eat there.
RE:Newbie with a newbie question...
Well, first, thanks for the fast reply's. Second I really want to catch bass or trout. I was thinking about going to Biglake in mount vernon for bass, but i would love to fish on samish river or skagit river since both are practicly in my back yard. I would just like learn different techniques IE: casting tips, what lures to use, etc. And if anyone knows any nice spots and if anyone who fishes in this area alot has room for one more on their next trip or whatever. And yes i have been reading, and pretty much all i've read here has been helpful. thanks again.
