Lake Washington is a nice sized lake, so it can be pretty intimidating for a newcomer. But you can catch smallies and perch around Coulon park. At coulon they also have a place where can drag you boat to the water, that is mostly uncrowded. But a worm will catch just about anything. But like I said it a little intimidating and the fish can be scattered. But by using a worm you will catch any fish, and once you identify the fish that are holding around you, you can fine tune a little bit. Like if catch a bass, switch to crank baits or plastics, a trout switch to eggs of dough bait etc. You might even come to find out that a worm is all you need. Remember to check the regs though, its a certain distance from the mouth of the cedar where you are allowed to fish. Also when fishing for bows you arnt allowed to keep any over 20". And for 1/2 the season you cant keep bows under 12". So there is almost like a slot limit. I wouldn't recommend going out on a sunny day, with a boat that size those big boats will push you around a lot and they dont care one bit. I dont do a whole lot of fishing at lake WA, only for sockeye. But I have caught trout, bass, and perch from Coulon dock. One more thing, last time I checked lake WA was federal water and you need tabs for your boat, but I could be mistaken.

See the rules are still kind of hazy to me. I just got my first boat w/o a trailer/motor. So I am new to this stuff as well. I did start a thread in the boat section about this question. But I was referring to a 10' aluminium and a minn kota trolling motor, so it might be different. But if you post a new thread regarding this question, you should get all the info you need.
