Anyone know a lake or pond as close to tumwater as possible to catch, crappie, blue Gil, catfish, bass from shore. My son and I are itching to get into them. We went to black lake last night and caught 2 small crappie.

Shore fishing options in Thurston County are very limited. There is a pretty good area at Hicks Lake in Lacey. Pay to Fish at Offut Lake Resort. There is shore access at St Clair at the boat ramps. Other than that, not much available.

Might try Black Lake. There used to be some decent shore access there, but I have not fished it in several years. Helps if I would have read your whole post, just noticed that you tried black lake already. I echo the Deep Lake suggestion below.

Try Deep Lake at the state park. Lots of shore access, lots of fish.
