Kitsap Lake

Can anyone help a newbie out with Kitsap Lake. What bait are you using successfully in June,July,August, how far off shore ?
Went out a couple of times in a boat trolling off shore using floating rapala, and spinner with silver reflector, also tried bobber with chartuse power bait. No Luck. I'm kinda new at this and still trying to learn.

Run deeper crankbaits like a shadrap or a bait that runs 10 feet or deeper. Use flourocarbon on 4-6 lb line and you should get a few. I did very well there a few weeks ago using this but now go elsewhere. The largest trout of this season came from here. Most of the deeper baits are very large and will not draw the hits your looking for. Go very early or late for shallower action.

Im going to go buy some Shad Rap baits tomorrow, what color do you recommend, I know Kitsap Lake is not really clear water just off shore.

I've done best in the little bay that's on the other side of the lake from the launch with the dock. We troll in there and do well for trout. Wedding rings is all you need tipped with worms.

One thing I did not include in my PM is that I have found the crack of dawn and late sunset bite to be best. My biggest and most productive times have been an hour before dark. You will know the time if you are on the water.....they will be rising all over the place. FYI - Kitsap is year round and a 24 hour fishing lake. The launch across from the county launch is open all the time. Just be respectful of the residence on the lake if your out past dark. And I always try to pick up trash around the launches before I leave. Just a way to keep things looking nice and my thank you back to being able to fish such a nice lake.
