Saying thank you to the stupid people you tried and failed to steal my kicker motor. Looks like my Mcguard locks stopped them, although im suprised they havent come back and finished the job.

Looks like your padlocked transom bolts were mainly for show! Looks like you put 4 bolts through the transom with security hardware, that will stop most anyone from walking off with yor motor. Did they mess with the actuator for the auto pilot? I really hate thieves, we need to impliment the cutting off of hands for those who get caught stealing.

yes it was a cut fuel line, clowns...so they left the fuel line cut dripping along with the sparks off the live cables they had exposed....I am still working in Canada and will be home finally next weekend to assess the damage.

Since this has happened i cannot decide to take off my kicker, my biggest problems are connectors for HAL TR1 pilot i already for two for the kicker cables to the battery. Anyone got any suggestions. It will also mean having to take off the hydraulic cylinder that turns the kicker too....what a palaver!

Can you have an aluminum cover fabricated that would go over the kicker and attach to the back? You would have to remove it when you whet fishing but would be easier than putting the kicker on and off. I saw a guy at Vernita that had one made. The connection points went thru the top and there was a bar that went thru both tangs that had locks on either end.

This whole espisode has proven quite costly. I did decide to remove the kicker as i go out of town for long periods of time so i ended up having to buy a stand off ebay which is superb. That and all the different connectors and battery cable added up to a few c notes not to mention a bigger soldering gun for the 6 gauge wires.

Yes but that assumes you will be there to pull the trigger. The entire problem and solution is predicated on being out of town for work for extended periods.
