How's that for a first lake boat? Planning to buy tomorrow. Also wondering what else I'll be needing and looking for recommendations. Trolling motor/battery/charger/paddle/lie jackets, etc.

That will work great. Years ago I wanted a jon boat, but never got one.

Make sure you have all the safety equipment that is required dependent on the length of boat. Such as flares, throwable life preserver, life jackets for each passenger - ones that fit properly - kid size for the kids, etc.

As far as an electric motor I think a 35 pounds thrust one will work fine. Either a Minn Kota or Motor Guide, both are fine. Some people even put an electric motor on both ends of the boat. The battery should be a deep cycle RV batt. I think a group 24 will work just fine. If you stay out on the lake for 10 hours or so at a time, then a group 27 might be needed.

I agree with everything Tom said. A jon boat is a great lake boat, especially for our small bass lakes

Congrats there NFF! Enjoy! I thought I read somewhere you might be hitting up Long Lake this weekend? That will make a huge difference! Just be careful with the weeds. They can turn your prop into a spinning ball! I was planning to head there myself on Saturday but now I have the crab pots out, I'll be staying closer to them, up in Clallam County. Best of luck!
