Mmmmm MMmm! blue flesh may look a lil weird but its a good fish. Many people/wdfw advise not to eat them and other bottom fish out of the sound, however.

they are great tasting fish but the ones over 5lb tend to be tough. the meet turns white after cooking. and don't eat the roe there poisonis. I would not eat them cought down south.

Cabezon is a pretty bullhead to me.They have nice meat and not alot of bones.Fried would be the ticket or smoked much like Black Cod.

I have caught these around the rocky areas in the Straights when we waited for shipwork on the tug I worked on. They taste great and have a crab or lobster taste. I spose it is because that is their main food. The IFGA record is from 1990..23lbs but grows much larger. They are a great fighter for their size. I wouldn't eat any fish off the bottom in any big city bay. Seattle , Everett, Tacoma and areas South. I'm sure you will like them. Don't eat the eggs! They make you sick! Good luck!

Good eating. I prefer Lingcod, then Rockfish, then Cabezon, but all of em are great to eat IMO.

Don't eat em outta Elliott Bay and you should be cool!

Yes, I would put them right up there with the Lings as well. Great tasting fish. I have bbq'd them with great results to. Lemon, onion and your generic table seasoning and BAM! you have a tasty meal.
