Anchoring in MA11?

Thinking about staying out on the boat Friday night in MA11. Are there any preferred spots to anchor out there (toward Commencement Bay side)? Along Ruston Way maybe? I thought I saw a couple mooring buoys out there...

Anchoring overnight in Puget Sound is not something I've done before. I've tied up overnight on mooring buoys, just make sure you have permission from the owner and tie up solid to the ring. If you just loop the line through and tie off the end to your boat the line will rub on the ring and wear quickly!

ive thought about this and quite frankly scares the crap outta me, although the advantages are awesome as you aint gotta fight the launch or early light...as ya already there.....maybe bodo will be up for a all nighter on the sound.....

You can stay over night on your boat in Quartermaster Harbor too. QH is a short run directly north of Pt. D. There is a King County park there with lots of dock space and bathrooms. You have to pay for overnight moorage. It does get pretty crowded on the weekends so get there early.

I've anchored up and camped over night several times in PS and area lakes. Might do it this salmon season. It does offer huge fishing advantages (PM and AM bites!).

Sickbayer, What are your concerns specifically? I don't want to guess... I will say I don't sleep very well when I'm in my boat, always worrying about coming off anchor and drifting into shore.

Mike as you put it, i dont think i could sleep that well and coming off anchor to close to shore etc etc...besides ive an excuse, im from the UK mate!! where we have No snakes, bears and bloody mountain lions, oh and while we're at it volcanoes.....BUT i do love this state..lol.... personally im new to boating and fishing (fish my whole like but for perch carp etc...) here in the NW about 3 years iunder my belt, I do have a lotta common sense but sometimes however just having someone with you with expereince, helps the learning process of being out there in the sound.
