Lake Studies

Post by Marc Martyn » Fri Jun 29, 2007 12:24 pm

The Ecology Department did studies on many lakes throughout the state in 1998/1999 and filed these reports. Although they are somewhat outdated, they have some useful information. I believe that they do these studies every 10 years, so new ones may be coming.

Thanks for the link Marc. Good information! I work for Ecology out of the Yakima office. I don't know too much about this sort of thing because I work in the Solid Waste and Financial Assistance Program, but my cubical is across from a bunch of "EAP" people (Environmental Assessment Program). Perhaps I can hit them up for some information on if new lake studies are coming when I'm back in the office Thursday. I know they were shock-surveying the Yakima River from the Tri-Cities to Prosser a couple months ago. Aparently the migrating channel cat population is VERY healthy in the lower Yak.

I asked some people at work if there was anything in the works as far as updating comprehensive lake studies or conducting new ones, and nobody really knew anything. Which makes sense since the order would come down from Lacey.
