Error Screens, Bugs, Loggin In and How to Cope with it all!

Post by Aaron » Mon Apr 30, 2007 9:05 pm

Uhhgg.. the stress of it all is starting to get to me. We're having what I would call a major problem wtih the user registration and verification part of the new site. It won't let you logon, reregister, change your password.. nothing. I know it can be frustrating but we ARE, or shall I say "I" am working on it. I gave up my opening day weekend to be here working on reported problems and I'm still here trying to make everyone happy. I can't fix it if i don't know its broken.

If you are one of the unlucky people that have been having problems registering for the site, go give it another try. As a temp measure to pacify the angry mob, i have approved all of the "waiting for approval" accounts. This accounts for the majority of people having issues with the site. If this didn't fix anything for you I need to know the problems you are having and exactly what the site does when you have the problem. Only then can I begin to fix it.

Again, use the Contact form in the main menu to send us feedback.

Aaron,

Good job on the upgrade. Having gone through forum software changes myself, I understand the frustrations and the 'little things' that end up causing big problems. I switched from UBB to Community Server. Of course the threads migrated fine, but not the accounts (would have MUCH preferred the other way around).

The only suggestions I have is can you make it more apparent to users that they will have to re-register for the forums? I spent about 20 minutes troubleshooting on my own side before I realized what happened. Maybe it is pointed out, and I missed it.

Also, i found it difficult to find the photos section. I still havent found it. :) found it. just like i suspected, not enough poking around

Good luck!

- Tim
