Poor Again...Dagnabbit! (October 19-21)
Patrick F. McManus has done it again….become poor! And this time he’s written a new play about it for his even poorer and indentured actor, Tim Behrens. Scrambled McManus is a bumper crop of tales harvested from the first three McManus Comedies: A Fine and Pleasant Misery, McManus in Love, and Pot Luck, and about 30 minutes of totally new material. MBT, thanks for reposting this. When my brother and I drove my sailboat out from Wisconsin to Spokane (before the days of MP3s and CDs) we took turns reading a McManus book out loud while the other drove. Great entertainment!

We're going, although they will have to haul me out on a stretcher. I'll probably pass out from laughing so hard.

I started reading his books when I was a kid and quickly went through all of them. Being a native Washingtonian, I could really relate and his books kept me in stitches (and often my parents too because I just had to share with them). Even if you are not from WA, I highly recommend his books to any outdoor sportsman. Funny stuff. Haven't seen any plays of his, but if they're as good as the writing, then they should be funny.
