Hey Rob,
are you still heading up to lk chelan at the end of the month?
If so,try to find a copy of this book,Graybill's Guide To Lake Chelan by Rick Graybill published back in the 90's.This was to go to guide on fishing the lake . He innovated a lot of techniques on catching fish especially the landlocked chinooks.Back in the 90's when he was guiding ,he was one of the TOP DAWGS.I learned a lot from listening to a couple of his seminars.Try looking at the tackle shops around Puget Sound area,Hooked on Toys in Wenatchee ,Kelly's Ace Hardware in Chelan, the fishing/hunting store in Chelan ,it was accross the street and up a block or two from Kelly's, maybe even the library.
If I don't get to converse with you ,I hope you have a great time there.I will be gone alot this month for some fishing/shrimping in Canada.

I totally agree. We already have our campsite reserved for the weekend after Labor Day. Deception Pass St Park. Fresh Water Fishing, Salt Water Fishing, Swimming, Hiking..... Good times.

the gf wants to go there one day. how is it? fishing from shore wise. do not know a single thing around there.
The camping is great, lots of privacy in the camp sites. Shore Fishing at Cranberry Lake (fresh water) is ok, we catch fish. Nothing trophy size, avarage sized mostly and crayfish. We head over to the salt water and toss a few lines with shrimp from time to time but havnt really caught much due to lack of effort.

Headed back up there Sept 4th and we plan on fishing alot harder than last year. We plan on fishing Lake Campbell, Pass Lake and Cranberry Lake. All from shore, so I'll let you know how that turns out.

If Ea Wa is what you like try some of the smaller private camp areas. In Vantage try Getty's Cove.Or if you drive a few miles from Steamboat Rock there is a small campground with a toilet area. Its inexpensive and very nice. There is camping on either side of that area.
Even though the website says its full try anyways when you get there.Ive been to campgrounds that said no vacancy ,but when you show up in person sites are usually available. Some folks make reservations way in advanced and cancel last minute.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.
