What's on your Christmas List ?

Post by Dave » Sat Nov 01, 2008 8:33 am

It's November 1st 2008 and my wife is asking me what I want for Christmas. I'm not much of a present kind of guy and when I want something throughout the year I usually just go buy it when we can afford to.

That said I thought it might be fun to hear what all of you are asking for this Christmas. For those lucky enough to be buying a new boat this year, congrats in advance.

My list is simple. Although I have been a fair weather fisherman most of my adult life, I have decided to change my ways. Several times this year it was raining and I made the decision to stay home. That said, the Cabela’s Dry Plus Pro Series Bib and Jacket are on my list. The set is on sale for about 230.00 out the door and I believe it will be worth the money. No more staying home on rainy days off! For the stocking? New lures work for me.....

So, What’s On Your List?

Each year I have a problem with that same question. Partly because because I don't give it much thought. I suppose this year might be a set of Breathable chest waders. There are time when fishing a river, I would like to get a few feet further out in the river and my hip waders won't allow me to. Cabela's has a nice set for under $150 that a friend bought and really likes.

I'm telling Santa that I need Stocking Foot Hip Waders. My boat holds me out of the water enough that all I need is someway to keep my feet dry. Plus, when nature calls, I don't have to get nearly naked just to relieve my bladder. Beyond that, I'm asking for more rod building components. Cork grips, reels seats, snake guides & rod blanks. In the words of Steve Martin (in the movie The Jerk) "That's All I need." After that, all I need is this lamp. Then all I need is this table, then all I need is......
Where you go is less important than how you get there.

I couldn't wait for Christmas so I bought myself an early present - a FishTV Camera.

Nature Vision® Fish TV™ Underwater Viewing System
I took it to Lake Washington off the fishing dock at the Stan Sayers boat launch to see whats down there...... Looking though all the hydilla, rocks, beer bottles and other garbage down there on the bottom-- the view was pretty clear but the perch have moved out to deeper water. The one I have can be used with 10 "C" batteries or 12volt battery. I think this will really help finding crappies in lakes from the pontoon or boat. Might even use it while on my float tube too.:thumleft:
Hooking the camera to the downrigger cable trolling for cutties in lake wash I might have to give that a try too, love to see that take underwater.
