Northwest Fishing Reports

Well Tuesday into Wednesday, it appears that someone took a bolt cutters to my outboard lock and downrigger locks. Didn't notice it til we hit the water, as we were pulling out of Redondo, I turned to look back and gone, no outboard no downriggers.

Missing:
1997 4hp Yamaha outboard
2 Scotty 1101 downriggers

I hate THIEVES! Camera got the thieves though! We put in cameras 2 weeks ago. One of them is 6 feet behind the boat looking right down on it. Couldn't have been clearer if it was a photography studio, go the truck too.

haven't heard back yet, just emailed um at around 5am.
Spent a couple of hours on Craigslist going through every possible outboard listing also.

Call local pawn shops, too.

Well we do know it was a pro, they brought their own hefty bolt cutter, and it was a 7/17 inch hardened lock, beefy.

Hope you get your stuff back and they go to jail! Hate thieves too! Will leave it at that to observe site rules...

My guess is that these were out of towner cretins. The local ones know better after an incident a few years back word gets around the Cretin table pretty clearly on where to avoid. So they brought their own cutters, and were either new to the area or really dumb.

Thieves did this to my Duroboat some years ago. I was heading out for the sockeye season . I went to launch and noticed no depth finder or 5hp Johnson.

You should post their photos at you local gas stations, mini marts, sporting goods stores, on here, etc., and give them no where to hide!! Our rural local corner gas station gets these from time to time, and believe me, people look!! They lost their right to privacy!!!!

Yea, put the pics up! I'll look for 'em! These are the creeps that really drive me nuts. I hope you have good insurance, that's a lot of money to be out.

Agreed! Plaster their pictures around the forums ect.... someone is bound to know something! And it gets their pics out. Sad to hear this garbage!

And contact you thru Washington Lakes .Com alot of GOOD People Fisherman out there maybe you might hear back from some of them about this (they cover alot of Lakes ect where a Yamaha outbord and Downriggers would be!!! PS I just purchased a New 6 HP Yamaha at Auburn Sports and Marine and also purchased a Panther OutBoard Lock and a MiniKota Lock for my Electric Trolling Motor !! Cant take your eyes off for a second anymore or leave anything inb boat bolted down or not !! Got my Boat Motor Locks thru Cabelas!! Im located around Des Moines!! Keep a Look out for your STOLEN BOAT GEAR!!! Ill pass that info on to all my fishn Bros and have them look out for you too!! POST A PIX ONLINE MAYBE!! Yeah, post up some pics! I had my kicker stolen a few years back. They cut right through a U lock in the middle of the day. Neighbors at home on all sides, no one saw anything but a gardening truck. Ya just feel violated...
