i did catch a pretty good size yellow bullhead there...
Putting the liver, especially chicken liver since it's a bit softer than beef, in a bit of spawn net before putting it on the hook will help out keeping it in place.tnj8222 wrote:...liver works great but hard to keep on the hook.
Great thing about catfish...they'll eat just about anything. I've caught them on grasshoppers, frogs, chicken and beef liver, worms, dough-baits...you name it. If they weren't so tasty...I'd say they are one of the nastiest fish around.tnj8222 wrote:we used to use shrimp in north carolina for catfish. worked good.
yeah we used to use nylons lol.leahcim_dahc wrote:Putting the liver, especially chicken liver since it's a bit softer than beef, in a bit of spawn net before putting it on the hook will help out keeping it in place.tnj8222 wrote:...liver works great but hard to keep on the hook.
Lake Terrell near Ferndale does indeed have some very large, channel catfish; in the 20lb. range. I lived in Ferndale for 7 years and caught much smaller ones, but saw pictures from local fishermen of the "Big Ones".gpc wrote:Lake Terrell, also supposedly has them. I know there is a few more. I want to say Kress lake, if not Kress than a lake around Kress. Hit the cascades and your options will really open up for some whiskers
