Dick night?
I was reading an article on steelhead fishing and it said that the author of the article would fish with and catch winter runs with a dick night. Have any of you done this? To me its weird thinking of catch a steelhead on a dick night? What do you guys think?

Almost any lure will catch a large variety of fish. Dick Nites have been around for ages and will catch most anything, I'm not surprised that steelhead have fallen prey to it as well. Who would have thought that rubber worms would work on steelhead? You never know unless you try it.

Yep as gman said lures and baits will work on alot of different species. I used tubes and caught bass, trout, crappie, pinks. And they are designed for bass. lol The dick nites will work on alot of things.

It's a spoon and I have caught trout with them why not steelhead? I used one last time I was out at the Skook. I didn't catch anything but I didn't catch anything with eggs either.

I've caught steelhead using cut-up pieces of red foam from toy balls

I've ran spoons for steelhead quite a few times. Haven't landed anything with 'em yet but I've had some really good hits and hookups. I see it as a good idea to keep in the arsenal.
When times get tough, just keep on fishin'!!!

we used to use dick nite spoons under a float in the umpqua river when i lived in oregon and did very very well with this method on steelhead.
If you love something set it free if it don't come back hunt it down and kill it.

I think they do that on the Skagit or some river up north (from me). toni it works very well in the carbon for salmon and steelhead.just gotta wait until the water clears up a bit.

under a float? i tried that for humps this year and they wouldnt even touch it, took the float off and hooked them every cast
