Where did all the fish go?

Post by ResQ » Fri Oct 07, 2011 2:23 pm

wow. water temps shot up mid summer and fish stopped biting. Now I tried them again to get away from the rivers for a bit and still nothing? Temps were 60* on the button. not even able to get any pan fish either. From 2 lakes! Nothing. Anyone having any lake luck with trout?

Haven't been fishing. Waiting for the boat to get done, then rain, then rain, then rain. Waiting for spring, then rain, then rain, then rain.

I was going to say the same thing. A couple weeks ago I went to Lake Ballinger for the first time since May and caught 3 cutthroat trout and lord knows how many perch. Went the last 2 days and I can't get a hit since the rains started.

I caught fish yesterday at American. Kokanee.
Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

this time of year cold rain = fish/bass going deep, or deep into the weeds, shutting off. couple days of light rin or no rain and they'll come up and feed again. I don't bother even trying during/right after a rain like we've been getting.

Hmmmm. I was under the impression that it all has to do with water temps and that rain usually helps.

Not when the water is already getting colder, and then it rains even colder water. During the heat of summer a cool or cold rain can help. It also oxyginates the water so the fish have more oxygen and they get more active.

Fishing for bass is good up North, Snohomish and Whatcom county, Bass are still in a summer pattern
with surface temps in the 60's. You can find them from shallow to deep, from horizontal to vertical
presentations. Big Trout are caught while Bass fishing quite often, purely buy accident.
Cooler nights with daytime highs from 60 all the way up to 80 a week ago. Seems like Summer.
I haven't seen alot of rain and some boat launches are getting hard to launch with lower water
levels, I pray for rain!
Notice that Fall does not go by our calendar month, everything is still green - fall is a ways out,
normally water woud be quite abit cooler and leaves would be blowing everywhere.
I have found that 55 degrees {water} equals, hang on tight! Binge feeding
Bring on some rain and knock that temp down, I want some fall fishing action at its finest. [drool]
I start bass fishing in February 40 degree water, and finish End of November 45 degree water.
December and January= no Bass

I put in a fishing report and 'good fish' thread picture. :-)

I found them around the pilings and pads. All shallow.
