Spawning or pre spawn? There's no way bass are dropping eggs now anywhere even at silver

Smallies have moved up into the shallows at Tapps. I don't think they're laying eggs though.

Moving up...yes. But that can be a whole another month away from spawn. And Silver doesnt even have smallies so I really doubt the large mouth were about to or are going to spawn

Silver lake does have Smallies, just a few. If you catch one, you should probably kill it. Don't let a trophy LM lake get run over by Smallies. Anyway, no way bass are dropping eggs yet anywhere in Washington. Fine with me, I like catching them when they are FAT !!

No worries. They should be getting active real soon. This recent cold spell didn't help.

I think right now it just depends on locale. I know their not dropping eggs,I'm not sure if pre-spawn is applicable. But I have seen smallies hang'n around the stumps. However, these dudes arn't biting or even chasing. After the snow,I've noticed they have pushed back but not very far.

no way, but im sure he did pull it from the shallows. 51 degrees is just to cold for them to be sitting on beds. i have been wrong before, but im about 99% positive that fish was either roaming the shallows or heating up in the shallows, and since the sun didnt really come out yesterday at all i would have to say it was roaming.

Remember what I said last week to try it shallow FM! They roam in shallows this time of year, especially in small lakes.

Two things.
Yes they are in the shallows no question about that but they aren't sitting on beds. They havent even made beds yet. And if the bass was only two pounds it was probably a male and he was just up in that area. It could have even been a bed from last year but there's no way dez caught a bass off a bed from his pontoon sight fishing with the rain, wind and overcast we had Saturday. This story is so far from the truth.

ATTENTION EVERYONE ALLOW THE HORSE TO SPEAK .. LOL .. OKAY IT'S LIKE THIS YEAH I GOT A LMB IN THE SMALLER LAKE @ BEAVER .. HE WAS SITTING IN A CREEK IN ABOUT A FOOT OF WATER .. AFTER WORKING THAT SPOT AND NOT GETTING ANOTHER BITE I WENT IN TO THE SPOT WHERE HE HIT .. I DID SEE THAT THERE WAS A BED THERE , COULD THIS HAVE BEEN A BED FROM YEAR ? POSSIBLE ? WHY WAS HE THERE ? HAVE NO IDEAL ... I FOLLOWED THAT SAME PATTERN THOUGH OUT THE REST OF THE AREA AND NO OTHER BASS ON BEDS .. SO THAT ONE LARGE MOUTH COULD HAVE BEEN ROAMING ? THAT WASNT ANY SIGN OF FORAGE ...SO YES THE FISH DID COME OFF OF A BED , WAS HE THERE BEDDING I WOULD HAVE TO SAY NO ..:bounce: BBD ..
