RE:Is the Nisqually closing
Searching the news at WDFW I found this:
Nisqually River closes to fishing
OLYMPIA – The Nisqually River, which forms the boundary between Pierce and Thurston counties, will be closed to all fishing, effective New Years Day.
The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) today announced the emergency closure, citing lower-than-expected returns of chum salmon to the river.
Because the river is already closed to fishing for steelhead and other game fish, the chum salmon closure effectively ends all fishing in the Nisqually until June 1, 2001.
"The Nisqually River fishery is through for this season," said Tim Flint, regional WDFW fisheries manager.
The closure for chum salmon begins at 12:01 a.m. Jan. 1 and runs through Jan. 31, the end of the regularly scheduled season.
But it is from 2000.

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

"I heard from a friend of mine who has an uncle with a buddy that has a wife that heard from a file clerk at the WDFW that XYZ river is going to open/close due to reason ABC"
