Hey all,

Wow, sounds like lots of very good eats! It’s fun to hear what everyone is having. I will be enjoying the traditional turkey dinner (Baked). I am looking forward to this year’s Thanks Giving day because I have my sister in-law living with us and she is from Louisiana. I am looking forward to a few dishes from her that I haven't had before, and she is making a homemade stuffing which I also haven't had since I was a kid. There will be home made (from scratch) pies and stuff to munch on before the actual dinner.

It will definitely be my "cheat day" for the week. As of today, I have lost 99 pounds since changing me life (eating wise) in December 2007 (just under 11 months ago). I am a new man and feel better than I can remember. I started at 403 pounds; I am 6' 03" tall. I weigh 304 as of this morning. I will never be huge again!

So I can't wait for turkey day. I wish all of you a great Holiday season. Eat lots, enjoy family, and be safe.

Dave

Hey Bodo and Rac,

I just wanted to congratulate both of you. Outstanding job dropping the weight. I reached the 100 pounds lost mark yesterday so I am now at 303. My next very small goal is to drop below 300 which I haven't been in 20 years, and then I will start my sprint for the finish line of 50 more. I hope to weigh 250 by July or August. What a ride! Eat lots on turkey day guys, then right back to clean eating and exercise.

I would be happy to share with anyone what changes I made to lose 100 pounds in less than 11 months. I am referring to what foods I eat and what training I am doing to make this happen at a rate of about 1 to 2 pounds a week (very safe) with no plateau. Just shoot me a pm if any of you are interested. Happy Holidays.

Our family is from louisiana, so we eat turkdunkens all the time. you will love it.
i am thinking about smoking something also this year. i know my wife won't go for the turkey in the smoker. (no faith in my smoking abilities yet:-" But that doesn't mean i can't put something in there.
I have smoked my turkey for years and I found that if I smoked it for 4 hours and then put it in the oven to finish it off is the safest way. No problems. works and tastes great.

A friend of mine puts a turkey in an old stove out back in a shed and smokes it and cooks it at the same time. Just cut a hole in the side of the stove and hook up to a BBQ with a pipe. Fires it up and and cooks it at 400 till its done. ...Not stuffed.

Have a great Holiday, Steve btw....10,179 on a laptop w/no mouse 2nd try...

Fly Fishing is the art of attaching a fake bug to a line and relying on the appropriate manipulation of the rod to deceive the fish into eating a sharp steel hook covered with feathers and fur.

My whole T day changed plans.I ended up going to my sisters house for dinner. She is another Weight Watchers person. All I had to bring were the fruit and pickled items.I brought them pickled asparagi, pickled okra, pickled brussell sprouts, and hot pepper jelly. My turkey is being smoked today,Friday.I did also bring a salted caviar that I made from the eggs of the Silver Mullett.I kept to my points abnd left before the desserts came out.Instead I went home and went to bed dreaming of dessert.

I enjoyed a full plate of amazing food. My wife baked a turkey that was fantastic. I enjoyed mashed potatoes, baked sweet potatoes and carrots (with butter), homemade stuffing, corn, and Hawaiian sweet rolls. I stuck to just one plate and it was more than I have eaten in one sitting in forever and it was all very tasty and fun to enjoy. Later I had 3 small pieces of pie (pumpkin, chocolate cream, and coconut cream), all topped with cool whip. I had to try them all. It was very fun to “cheat” eating things I normally wouldn't eat. Yes I eat turkey (ground) every day in one form or another, but not baked, so it was great. I was back to my new normal eating the following day and although the pie was tempting just sitting there in the fridge, I refrained and watched the others in my home eat it up. I reached my 100 pound goal on Friday November 21, 2008, about 5 weeks ahead of schedule. My next goal is a small one which is to get under 300 (so basically 4 pounds will put me at 299). I hope to do that in the next week or so. From there I will lose 50 more hopefully by August to put me at 250 from 403. Not bad! Rac and Bodo, keep it up boys, you are both doing great. Your success inspires me. Enjoy the weekend.

Mine was a tasty dinner for sure, I made it a point not to go home bloated so I didnt sample half of the delights presented.

As I type this, I have BBQ Beef Short Ribs brewing away in the crock with a smoked roast happening tomorrow.

I like this holiday simpley for the fact of remembering what your thankfull for. A good woman (really good!), a job, food on the table and we are all healthy.

Happy Holidays All!

Had most of the clan over. No cheese burgers or tasty fries but we did do two turkey's one baked one fried, fried one was injected with hot sauce and crusted with New Mexico chilies....... yummmmmmmmmmy!!! Mashers sweet spuds, green beans, dressing, creamed onions, jello salad and fresh cranberries. No sugar added and no one was the wiser. One medium plate of turkey, sweet spuds, a taste of onions and dressing and a pile of beans. I miss everything but the bloat! Felt great after dinner and once everyone left I had my desert........:-" =p~

I was going to hit lake WA today and found someone had stripped the winch on the trailer....... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!! I leave the tension off the strap when not traveling and when I checked it......... tight as a drum and I couldn't even turn it enough to lossen the strap. Grrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!! Another trip to the boat store.........
