My wife and I bought the yearly pass for all the federal lands last year. $80, which sounds like a lot, but I think we would've spent almost double that already (ours expires in July, so we still have 3.5 months to use it). I spent a lot more than that for 300 level seats to go watch the Seahawks lose.

Discovery pass was, sadly, a stupid plan that everyone except a few folks in Olympia knew wouldn't work out well and now they've still had to lay off a huge portion of the work force and move another around many of the rest.

I will say there is one amazing thing about the licensing fees this year and that's that they actually dropped the fee for something! Yes, the two pole endorsement is now only $14 rather than previous year's $24.

It's funny how relative good news can be, though. I was on another site the other week and people from a state down south were absolutely up in arms about an absolutely egregious law that had been proposed in their state. What was this arcane piece of legislation you ask? It limited anglers to only 6 poles in the water at a time.

If your into Dirtbikes and Atv's, ORV licenses cover only the offroad vehicle on public lands. {DNR}
Your vehicle that brought your toys to the riding area needs a Discover Pass....... unbelievable! ](*,)
Cast first, worry later.

Wow! The only thing I was pointing out was we don't need the Discover Pass if we only use WDFW ramps/lands. Last summer, when I was reading posts about the new bend over pass, I thought we would need it. Great to see there is still some furor over the issue.

From memory, only a small percentage of the Discover Pass fee goes to WDFW,,, 12%????????????

Gosh, I thought everyone has seen it. The state released it last summer. It's ALL over the WDFW website! :thumbdown
