Newman lake public boat launch?

Post by ProP-Junkie » Thu Aug 09, 2007 11:58 am

looking at trying Newman lake, here in Spokane, for the first time. Was wondering if anyone could give advise for the quickest way to get to the public boat launch, without having to drive the entire lake looking for it. Will be traveling west to east, Thanks

I fish Newman a couple times a week. When you turn off Trent follow the road to the very end where it makes a "Y". Head left at the Y, you will go around a sharp corner and about 500 yards to your right next to a Resort and a couple of houses will the the fish and game launch. There is no dock, but the water is warm!

re: the launch... it's shallow (3-4ft) 50+ feet from the shore, so either watch over your side or your depthfinder before you drop your stern drive down. i chunked bottom when i assumed i was a decent distance away.

the lake is kind of a clover leaf shape, and the "leaf" up in the NE corner is pretty shallow too. watch that depthfinder! ;-)

it's a nice lake, have fun!
