Where is the best fishing in Eastern WA on shore?
I just moved to Tricities about 2 months ago and I am wanting to take my girlfriend fishing this weekend, I am willing to go as far as 125 miles. We don't have a boat and we plan to fish on shore. Can someone give me some pointers where there is good active fishing? I have been looking on this site and it shows that Lake Chelan is good but I noticed most people were on boats.
Anyone willing to help the new guy out where there will be good fishing?

You have some good fishing right where you're at: http://washingtonlakes.com/CountyLakeList.aspx?id=3" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://washingtonlakes.com/CountyLakeList.aspx?id=10" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; This should get you started at your nearby fishing opportunities. I just don't make it your way very often to make a specific suggestion.

What are you fishing for? I used to live in Kennewick so I know some pretty good spots depending on what you want to catch and if you have a vehicle that can go a bit off road on some bumpy dirt access roads.

some of the best bass fishing from shore that I've found is down along the Columbia Gorge. Check out my article titled, "Small Lake fishing for Columbia River Bass." :-)

I had a tough time finding this one..... It was under the lake heading, the search feature didn't bring it up... Similar to TroutSnipr, I grew up in Richland. Loads of places to fish all around you without having to drive far. The big question is what do you want to fish for. There are trout available out past Burbank. Bass, crappie, bluegill in every body of water there. Big catfish in Columbia, Snake, and Yakima rivers along with carp, suckers, and squaw fish by the score.

There is some good bassing available from shore at the chemical tanks off of Perkins Rd in Finley. Also at the barge moorings off Cochran Rd in Finley as well. You can get bass and good cats off Lechelt Rd and its a secluded cove kind of area I have camped at over night(no toilets or services). Same with Hover park off Cushman Rd. You can get to the Yakima for cats and bass by going under the freeway @ Columbia Point Marina and following the dirt roads that lead to numerous bank fishing spots on the Yakima. You can get good bass and Cats from Sacajawea Park east of Pasco at the mouth of the Snake River confluence, or can go higher up towards Ice Harbor Dam and get good cats off Martindale Rd near the Columbia Plateau trail or from the opposite side of the river from Emerald Rd or Pumping Plant Rd. There are bass in that area as well.

There is a million answers to your question. But the above link is the ticket for me each year. And if you drop $42K via the link, then you can have your own spot on the bank.
