Good spot for kids?
Hi -
New to the site ... my buddy and I are looking to take our young boys out somewhere this weekend, and I was hoping for recommendations on where to go. Neither of us have a boat, so would need to be relatively easy shore fishing (boys range in age from 6 - 12).
Would prefer it to be somewhere within a 60 - 90 minute drive of Bothell / Mill Creek area if possible.
Thanks in advance.
-Brian

Will you be fishing for trout only? Or anything that swims?

Hey brian, what i would do is go to the top of the site where it says "lakes" click on it and go down to the county index. There will be a picture of the state with all the counties, click on the county you are in and it will give you a list of different lakes, reports, and information about the lakes in your area ! GL

Lake Tye in Monroe is Juv. only lake and quite well stocked. There is always Ginsberg Ponds at Smokey Point, they have several species stocked, trout, catfish, ahhhhh early onset... either one should be fine....

Blackman's is Snohomish is still catching some fish and has 2 docks + bank access, Green Lake in King County is still catching fish and has dock + bank access, Gissberg Ponds in Snohomsh county has a juvenile only pond with bank access and a second all ages pond right next to it..... Silver Lake is really close to where you are at and has good access, but there are no recent reports, same with Ballinger in Edmonds.

Wow, thanks everyone for the replies. Glad I came across this forum. Looks like there are a few good places to check out ... guess that means we just might have to make multiple ventures out! ;)

Martha Lake in Lynwood is where I go. 2 docks with alot of room. Ive seen 12 people on the good dock at once before and nobody was crossing each other. Couple deep holes straight out from the dock. Lake is still producing but it has slowed from when it was stocked. Rainbow powerbait with a garlic scent worked good! Good luck on where ever you decide to go.
