I have a refurbished 5' 9" two piece, 3 weight bamboo fly rod that I mounted on an old fenwick metal reel seat. The ferrules separate with a nice "pop." I reshaped the grip and filled the gaps with a paste made from cork dust and carpenter's glue. It casts quite well and would make a very nice small stream brookie rod.
