how about netting techniques for a guy by himself with ultra lightgear? i am sure i would not have missed any of those fish "at the boat" had someone else been handling the rod, and i the net. I like the idea of the smaller gauge hooks

Good looking lures and fish! Thanks for the tips!
One question (probably a dumb one), anything important to know about how to tie on the tinsel/flash to the lead hook? Definitely want to start adding that to my lures! Have not tied anything besides a leader to a hook before.

The kokanee at American are rivaling the legendary Chelan kokanee. [thumbsup] I added a treble for better hook up. These fish have soft mouths and even just their weight coming out of the water can tear the hooks right out.
Also for those who are new to this fish, do not put them on a stringer. They can tear off just trolling around.

I do the tip dip thing hoping it will work but it doesn't always. Those fish have a mind of their own.

I landed all fish i got to the boat today. I changed my net, and i tightened up the drag a little.

--in addition to leader lenght the stiffness of your leader can be varied to give more action.
--we originally used wire leaders behind dodgers to be more action on the lure.
--Thick diameter fluorocarbon will transfer dodger energy to the lure.
--for lure like small spoons that have there own action I use longer leaders than I do with spinners or hoochie style.

--when I have more than one rod in the water I rarely have the same rigging even if one seems to be catching more. I experiment with the one that isn't producing.
