rules clarification
Please do not speculate. I can speculate. If you know, please say what you know, and how you know it.
Say I were to go to Lake Blackman. The limit there is 3. I catch 3. Say then I drive to Lake Bosworth. The limit there is the default state limit of 5. I catch 2 more. Say then I drive to Greenlake, where the limit is currently 10, and I catch 5 more.
Has anything illegal been done?
Now say i start the day at Greenlake where the limit is 10 and catch 5, then drive to Bosworth where the limit is 5 and catch 2, then go to Blackman where the limit is 3, and catch 3.
Has anything illegal been done?
This is important, as I could easily see starting the day at one lake and blasting through 5 in a couple of hours, and then wanting to fish more.

Re: rules clarification
I have had the game officer not care that I called or who I talked to. "I am the law here" is what I was told. That said, I would write an email and keep a copy of the reply.
Re: rules clarification
How are you going to prove where you caught them if you're in possession over the limit at Bosworth or Blackman's in your 2nd scenario? Guess you could stop at home but if you have to hide part of your day's catch, that should probably answer your question.
You're never in possession over your limit on any water in your 1st scenario but still call just to be sure.

Re: rules clarification
The only experience I have with this is the kokanee limits down on Merwin, which is 10, and then you can go to Yale, which has a limit of 16. But I believe you need to travel from a lower limit lake to a larger limit lake, definitely not the other way around. And, you can't catch more in total than the highest possession lake, in my example, if you went to Merwin and caught 10, you could then go to Yale and catch 6 more, but then you are done.
That's how it was explained to me anyway. I'm sure our resident regs experts will chime in...

I agree. To be certain of what is, or is not, legal send WDFW an email, request a rules clarification, print the response and carry it with you when lake hopping.jd39 wrote:How are you going to prove where you caught them if you're in possession over the limit at Bosworth or Blackman's in your 2nd scenario?
