Where would one concentrate their efforts? The rivers, perhaps?

No need to go very far. Right in your second hometown there are some great opportunitys. There are several lakes in Eburg that present a chance at some nice trout if you know a little about hard water fishing. And the Yakima river Whitefish season can be awsome right now thru Feb 29.

If your still in the westside of the state, try blackmouth..

If not, try any year round lake that you are comfortable fishing..

Good idea. I think I'm headed up to good old Lake Alice today for some bow fishing. I wish on the blackmouth. Only problem is my little boat would not be well equiped for the "sound." Thanks Sam.

I think Mattoon is year round, is that correct? If so, I imagine they're ice fishing it right now. Heard there are some monster bows in the there.

Fiorito and Mattoon. If your just looking for fishing and not meat there's always the Yak. Lots of nice fish taken and released after the photo op. no bait.

I just found this site, and its really helpful. I google the News Tribune and it brings me to the tacoma news tribune then I go to fishing reports. Every couple days they update the report on all the local lakes.

Washington/ Sammamish Cuthroat & Perch (but it sounds like you allready have that figured out lol)

Spanaway/ Beaver/ Black, Rainbows

Yakima/Green rivers Whitefish

Green river Steelhead

A lot of lakes from ellensburg to yakima got stocked. Fio Rito got some HUGE trout stocked last month. Last time I was there (2 weeks ago) it was 22 degreese and 17 degresse. So the lakes out there might be frozen.

Then you got your Rufus trips, Chelan macs, and ice fishing seems to be pretty decent right now.

February is the last month before the lakes start to open back up, then its smooth sailing from there on out

Yep its year round. And its been super cold this week. Those monsters were stocked just before ice up so you might have a decent chance at one.

Find out where the entrance road is for the Desert Seep Lakes is and then do a hike thru the sand dunes. They are 5 miles or so west of MarDon.

I was just on the Mar Don website and the resevoir is all frozen over, or at least right out in fron of the resort. Kind of a strange picture from what I am used too. But if tha resevoir is frozen over Id think the seep lakes were too. But I know those lakes arnt too known for feezing over. Hopefully Yellowbear can shed some light on the situation. But anyway yeah tons of lakes out there on both sides of the resevoir. And fishing from 1-90 on mosses lake seems to be pretty hot perch fishing durring the winter, as well.

Thanks a ton gpc...I really appreciate it. I will go ahead and use this resource for future fishing expeditions. Great stuff. Thanks to all who have "helped" out here, as I look at the calendar March and April are just months away!!

Yep no problem, I was really happy to find those fishing reports as well. Another good site is the fishing magician site. I just google fishingmagican.com. It a guy by the name of Dave Graybill (he acctually has some stuff on this site too). He has a radio fishing talk show over on the east side. And every few days he come out with a new fishing report as well. Its all eastside lakes/rivers but still helpful stuff.

Another good place to get reports is the Darrell and Dads guide service. They also come out with a report I think once a week. Its mostly for the lakes that they guide on.

The area known as the Desert Seep lakes usually is fishable two weeks before the regular seep lakes. The Desert ones are a series of hike in ones and its a slog thru the sand.

By desert seep lakes do you mean like soda, long, upper lower goose and so on. Or like the lakes on the other side of the reservoir?
